The name works two ways. Old Faithful describes the objects on our shelves: pieces made to outlast trends. It's also come to describe the shop itself, the place people keep coming back to because it's consistent, warm, and does right by them, visit after visit. That standard wasn't taught in a classroom. Walter learned it on the shop floors of his grandparents' general stores in Newfoundland, picking up the trade by watching, long before he opened a store of his own in Vancouver.
