Kehai Clock - Yellow

Orginally designed in 2004 this finally released clock embodies the slightly ambiguous sign of time. Through the opaque glass one can see the elusive nature of time as the square blurred hands present the fleeting nature of time. The red dot on the second hand slowly turns like an objet d’art. The thin, delicate, yet strong aluminum frame is manufactured by Takata Factory using casting technology.

Founded in 1947 Lemnos Inc. began as a brass casting manufacturer in Toyama Prefecture in Japan. In 1966 the began supplying Seiko Clock Co with key parts and eventually in 1980 began working with well-known and established designers producing fine clocks. 

Collaborating with famous designers Lemnos produces high-quality items by working with craftsmen who enhance the value of the material through their interaction with it. The result is a design object that does not become obsolete through the passage of time.

Lemnos designs have received high acclaim and design awards all over the world.

About the Designer: Makoto Koizumi, studying under designers Choei Hara and Shigemitsu Hara, established his own studio in 1990 called Koizumi Studio. In 2003 he extended his design sensibilities to open a tool store. His designs are far reaching - whatever matters in daily life he has turned his artistic eye towards designing large scale architectural projects to small everyday chopstick rests. In 2015, he launched the general incorporated association Wazawaza and began working to restore handcrafts. Professor Emeritus at Musashino Art University. Winner of the Mainichi Design Award in 2012 and Grand Prize of the Japan Crafts Exhibition in 2015.
