Give the gift of illumination with a timeless table lamp that will shine on for years to come. From handmade Japanese paper lamps to portable lights you can take anywhere - one of these lamps will certainly make the holidays merry and bright.
Handcrafted in Japan
Japanese manufacturer Asano delicately handcrafts each lamp in the Gifu prefecture using high grade Washi paper and a spiral rib of bamboo. The process involves wrapping the bamboo around wooden forms and then glueing and applying each panel separately until the entire surface has been papered: a laborious and highly skilled endeavour.
The Flowerpot lamp became synonymous with the Flower Power movement from the late 60s. Reflecting a break from convention to embrace a more open, modern mentality that promoted peace and harmony. Such was the mindset of its designer, Verner Panton. One of the most forward-thinking talents of his time. The Flowerpot series consists of several different models, including three pendants and two table lamps - all in a wide range of colours.
‘Seta’ the Spanish word for mushroom sets the tone for the diminutive, mushroom-like proportions of this quirky table lamp. But a further clue to its identity is signified by the suffix ‘go’ because this portable lamp unburdened by an electrical cord can literally move anywhere. Additional design features include a discreet gold dimmer and a stylish upward curve on the lamp shade’s brim.
The Arum Lighting Series is characterised by a large organically shaped shade suspended from a curved metal arch in a leaf-like manner. With the matte, off-white inside of the shade, the lamp provides a soft, evenly distributed light, and the lampshade can be adjusted to ensure optimal light conditions in all situations.
