Handcrafted Modern - Leslie Williamson
We just received another batch of one of our favourite books: Leslie Williamson's Handcrafted Modern. With the arrival of Autumn more and more of our time is spent at home and therefore our attention turns to making it a place worth dwelling in. If you're looking for interior inspiration than look no further than the pages of Handcrafted Modern.
The collection of photographs presented in Handcrafted Modern showcase the compelling homes of influential mid-century designers, such as Russel Wright, George Nakashima, Harry Bertoia, Charles and Ray Eames, and Eva Zeisel. Intimate as well as revelatory, this collection of photographs show these creative homes as they were lived in by their designers: Walter Gropius’s historic Bauhaus home in Massachusetts; Albert Frey’s floating modernist aerie on a Palm Springs rock outcropping; Wharton Esherick’s completely handmade Pennsylvania house, from the organic handcarved staircase to the iconic furniture.
Do yourself a big favour and head over to Leslie's website here to see more of her work. Be sure to follow her blog as she posts outtakes from previous work in addition to her latest ventures. Below is a selection of photographs taken from her website.
